Where Did the Qur'an REALLY get the Story of Adam? Investigating Dr Osman Latiff by Rudolph Boshoff

Did the Qur'an preserve the original story of Adam, or does it reflect later Jewish and Christian traditions that developed centuries after the Bible?

In this video, I engage James W. Sire’s warning about one of the most dangerous forms of Scripture twisting: the elevation of post-biblical revelation to the level of Scripture itself.

As ...Sire rightly observes, one of the Bible’s clearest warnings is not aimed at atheism or secularism, but at false prophets—religious voices who claim to speak for God when God has not spoken. The issue is not prophecy as a concept, but prophecy that competes with Scripture, supplements it, or quietly overrides it.

When so-called “new words from God” are treated as binding authority, Scripture is no longer functionally sufficient. Failed prophecies are reinterpreted, protected, or spiritualized, while the Bible is prevented from judging them. In that moment, authority shifts—from What has God said? to What is this prophet saying now?

The New Testament presents a very different picture: God’s final and definitive revelation is complete in Christ, authoritatively witnessed by the apostles, and delivered once for all to the saints. Any “word from God” that adds to, corrects, or overrides Scripture is not prophetic—it is counterfeit.
